August 3, 2025 - Rev. Laurie McKayCommunion Sunday Wildflowers and Ravens! They teach us that God provides beautifully and bountifully without striving. Jesus invites us to trust, not in what we can build or save, but in the God who sees and provides. Can we trust that we will be provided for? What are some ways that God provides when we least expect it?

Grateful/Thankful/BlessedWrap yourself in Love ~ Prayer Shawl Ministry We are blessed at St. Andrew’s to have creative and talented knitters and crocheters who share their talents of creating beautiful and meaningful Prayer Shawls. This ministry was born out of a desire to combine the healing power of prayer with the healing ministry of human touch. These shawls are created for the lonely, the grieving, the ill, or perhaps for those leaving home for the first time, or those celebrating the birth of a child. Over the centuries, shawls have come to symbolize shelter, peace, and spiritual sustenance. This summer, as part of a worship service, Rev. Laurie prayed a blessing over the shawls that have been created with love and with care, that those who receive them will feel the love of this community. We are grateful to Shelby Cole for coordinating this Ministry at St. Andrew’s.

Support PWS&D’s Gaza Response
As violence continues in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, humanitarian needs on the ground worsen. Tens of thousands of families lack access to food and emergency supplies. Reports continue to highlight difficulties in aid transportation and distribution, exacerbating an already desperate situation. Despite the challenges, PWS&D is responding through ecumenical networks and partnerships at ACT Alliance and Canadian Foodgrains Bank to provide food and other humanitarian assistance where and whenever possible. Your support is making a difference! You can give directly to PWS&D by clicking on the ‘read more’ button below, or you can make a donation through St. Andrew’s (cheque, cash, online, or debit machine). If so, please make sure you include ‘PWS&D – Gaza’ when you donate. The amount of your donation will be included in your tax receipt at year end.
