Oct 4, 2026 - A Grateful Tenant? (World Wide Communion)Rev. Laurie McKay The parable of the Wicked Tenants is a cautionary tale. The tenants do not own the land and anything their work produces will be credited to the landowner. They aren’t wicked to begin with. They just forgot for whom they are working. On this World Wide Communion Sunday, we remember we are tenants doing the work - a people called to produce the fruit of the kingdom for the glory of God.

Grateful, Thankful, BlessedA Tribute to our Debby While Debby Dorcas enjoys a well deserved fall vacation with family in beautiful New Brunswick, this is the perfect opportunity to show our gratitude for the major contributions that she has made to our congregation Growing Life Together with God. Currently the longest serving Elder on Session, Debby was ordained in January 1988, over 38 years ago. She has diligently served as Clerk of Session for the past 10 years. Although her active service as a “Ruling Elder” is about to end, we are grateful that she will continue as a member of both the Faith Formation and Worship Teams as well as act as our Communications Connector. In addition, Debby has recently volunteered her service on the Presbytery Care and Resources Committee of Presbytery. Debby, you bring joy to all you do and to the people you do it with. |

The Book of Psalms
As Reverend Peter said on Sunday, reading the Psalms is a great way to reflect on your faith. This is the last week for you to take home a red Psalter off the table in the foyer. Those left will be donated. |

Serving God, serving each other, Serving Communion
St. Andrew’s Session has been considering ways we can invite people to share in ministry, in Growing. Life. Together. With God. How can we be more inclusive in worship participation for our people? One thing we have been discussing is including more people in serving Communion. We would like to include youth, elders, people who used to be on Session, as well as people who have never been on Session! If you would like to be included in this way, there is a sign-up sheet in the Foyer. Anyone who signs up and is new to serving will be contacted to meet with Rev. Laurie and a few elders for a short time to talk about what Communion means, and what your role will be on Communion Sunday. People who are new to serving will be paired with an elder who has served before, so everyone will have a partner! We hope you see this as an exciting way to share in ministry together. Serving Communion is indeed one of our highest privileges.
