July 12, 2025 - Sow Reckless!Rev. Laurie McKay Can you imagine a farmer who can afford to be reckless in sowing seed where it will not grow? Jesus uses the parable to speak of God’s grace. And the invitation is to enter a world that celebrates the growth, rather than the waste of time and energy. Sow like Jesus - turn the world upside down!

Rev. Geoffrey
The smile on Geoffrey’s face is one of the reasons he is so beloved here at St. Andrew’s, and we are grateful to him for sharing that smile, especially on Sunday mornings as he walks around and talks to everyone, and as he sings from the depths of his soul and shares his love of music! For those who were recipients of his visits and wise counsel, I know you would all express your gratitude for his guidance and support. For those who attended his ‘teaching moments’ in whatever form that took, we are grateful for Geoffrey’s wide range of knowledge. He is a treasured teacher. For those of us in the office who got to work with him daily, we were blessed to share in ministry together and learn and grow together. We look forward to future opportunities when Geoffrey shares the gift of ‘who he is’ with us, and we share ‘who we are’ with him. |

SMILE for the camera!
As summer provides a much needed break from ‘regular’ activities, we’d love it if you would bring out your ‘inner photographer’, and take some pictures of your summer activities, then share them with us in our September ConnXions. You can send them to ConnXions@StAndrewsCalgary.ca |

Transitions ~ Summer 2026
This summer we mark the end of Rev. Geoffrey Simmons’ contract with St. Andrew’s. His final day will be July 5th. We are thankful that Rev. Geoffrey and Joan will continue to call St. Andrew’s their church home. There will be opportunities in the future for Geoffrey to provide leadership at St. Andrew’s ~ yet to be determined. While his role with St. Andrew’s is changing, the love and place he has in our hearts remains the same.

Mark your calendars for a change in worship services times for Sunday, September 13th : 12:00 noon
September 13th will be an exciting service for ALL of us at St. Andrew’s, whether you are part of our morning (English) or afternoon (Nuer) worshipping congregations. Our youth and their leaders will lead worship as they share their experiences at Collective (youth conference in Ontario) this summer. Mark your calendars for a change for BOTH our morning and afternoon worship services, as we will be having ONE JOINT SERVICE AT 12:00 NOON, followed by a pot luck feast in Trinity Hall. We know the fall is a ‘ways off’, but we wanted to make sure we give lots of notice about the change in time! |
