Sep 14, 2025 - Lost, then FoundRev. Geoffrey Simmins Jesus kept bad company. This irked those who considered themselves pure and in God’s favour. Jesus ate with sinners and showed them how to find the paths that lead to God–patiently, persistently, without rebuke or scolding. How about us? Do we have an open-door policy that encourages all to find their way to God, or do we keep our doors closed?

We are very Grateful, Thankful, & Blessed
What does it take to husk 70 cobs of corn? Many hands and a lot of patience I would imagine!!! But that is exactly what Terry Basaraba and his excellent team of volunteers did for the recent Cornfest held on August 17. What a fabulous time everyone had and we are so grateful to everyone for their hard work and dedication to help raise funds for our Pave the Way campaign. Serving up burgers, hot dogs, salads, corn on the cob and watermelon to over 75 in attendance helped us raise close to $20,000 in cash and pledge support. We are also thankful for the talented team of volunteers and friends from the Men's Group including: David Townsend, Loran McVittie, Jarrett Hoefling, Janet Remus, Brian Hawco, Stephen and Douglas Henrichsen, as well as Derek Wilkinson, who along with Clay Kuhn and Lloyd Allen provided some great entertainment. Kudos to Barry and Betty Robinson, newcomers who were brave enough to be interviewed before a live audience. Well done, Terry and Team! |

Adults like (need) to learn too!!!
What do theologians tell us about learning? Barbara Brown Taylor wrote a book called “Learning to Walk in the Dark.” N.T. Wright challenges us to learn about “Jesus Teaching Agenda.” Frederick Beuchner says that “To be wise is to be eternally curious”. |

Those were the days just so recently enjoyed. But wait!! There is a use for all those books!! Please box them up and save them for resale at the St. Andrew's Bazaar. Keep them warm and safe until mid-November when they will end up warming the hands of a grateful shopper. Many thanks in advance.

The Kidney Foundation wants the stuff you don’t!!
As you start to look at summer and fall clothes, we have a REALLY easy way for you to make room in your closets for the things you actually wear. Bring the clothes that you DIDN’T wear this summer, and that you know you WON’T wear this fall, to St. Andrew’s!! From (Monday) SEPTEMBER 15 to (Monday) SEPTEMBER 22 we’ll be collecting clothes, shoes, and boots for the Kidney Foundation. They will transform your used clothing into kidney research and programs that help fight kidney disease. One more way we can be ‘Woven into the neighbourhood’. |
