Oct 19, 2025 - The Challenge of Prayer

Oct 19, 2025 - The Challenge of Prayer

Rev. Dr. Dale Woods

We welcome Rev. Dr. Dale Woods, our speaker for Synod this weekend.  Jesus uses an odd parable to encourage the disciples to pray.  Is it our persistence that makes a difference? Or God’s nature to hear and answer?  Come and ponder with us, the challenge of prayer.

Only 5 weeks to go until our Christmas Bazaar!

This annual congregational event is scheduled for
Saturday, November 15 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Plans are well underway. Once again we’re looking to welcome a variety of vendors and we need your support. Do you know someone with an interest in selling their unique product? We are hoping to attract bath and body products, wooden crafts, candles, etc. A poster and vendor registration information are on the bulletin board in the Karl English Lounge. Please contact Wendy at wendy.mcnaughton@shaw.ca or Kathy at kathyslimmon@gmail.com for more information.
St. Andrew’s will have our own craft table and we’re hoping that a number of you are already busy knitting, crocheting, crafting and creating items to add to this table.
For information contact Shelby at shelbyc@live.ca.

Intergenerational Christmas Musical

Intergenerational Christmas Musical

Sunday, November 23

This year our musical will focus on what it truly means to belong.  Gloria is a young girl who’s been adopted and is a little unsure about sharing her story.  She finds the courage to open up, discovering that Christmas is actually a story of adoption too.  Just like she was lovingly chosen by her family, we’ve been lovingly adopted into God’s family.
You are never too YOUNG or too OLD to participate.  The more the merrier!   Practices will be set up once I know the best times for the people who are able to sing with us.  Add your name to the sign up sheet in the Foyer, and I’ll be in touch once practice dates have been set.  Come join us for the fun, and the music and message of Christmas!!
~ Deb

Sanctuary mental health ministry update: the impact of stigma

Sanctuary mental health ministry update: the impact of stigma

This week, we will look at discuss the impact of stigma on those experiencing mental health challenges.
The experience of stigma, much like the experience of exile, removes people from community and prevents them from experiencing fullness of joy. More than fifty percent of people living with mental health challenges report experiencing stigma. They learn how to talk negatively about themselves because others judge them.
You don’t need to attend all eight weeks of this program to benefit from it. You will be warmly welcomed for any week that you are able to attend.

Community Care Access

Community Care Access

Anyone living in Alberta with a valid provincial health care card (or registration in progress) can receive Home Care services if their health care needs can be safely met in the home. Consistent access criteria have been developed provincially for Continuing Care Homes (formally Supportive Living and Long-Term Care) and serve as general guidelines. Typical services include help with showering and bathing, with dressing, and medications. For further information, call 403-943-1920 to arrange basic professional nursing care at home.
