StAC Values: Courageous - Dr. Tim

November 14, 2021 – 10:00 am Sunday Worship Service

The Philistines are threatening to wipe God’s people right off the map. The Philistine giant, Goliath strides forth morning and night in daily insult to taunt King Saul and his people who cower in their foxholes terrified and without clear hope. The odds are completely stacked against them—except for one thing... Join us this Sunday as a humble shepherd boy takes on a mightily armoured giant—and revives a whole nation’s courage. Couldn’t we all use some fresh courage?
To prepare for Sunday’s worship, you can read
1 Samuel 1 - 49

During Sunday Worship, here are activity sheets for all ages & stages:
3+   7+   Youth    Adult

Please join us for in-person worship at 10:00 Sunday morning (no need to register); or use the link below which will be updated Sunday morning by 9:30 am to take you to our live streamed service.

Guest Speaker: Pastor Ray Matheson - Presented by our Life after Loss Team

We will host an in person worship service and will also live-stream the service on YouTube. This service provides a space and place for people to express feelings of grief. It is perhaps even more important this year, after a tumultuous period of grief, loss and isolation.

Youth Group Starting in November! Join us!!

The Faith Formation Team is delighted to announce the restart of Youth Group under the energetic and able leadership of Rev. Fiona Swanson. Joining her leadership team is David Kurtz who has faithfully led the youth for several years, as well as excited newcomers to the leadership team - Lauren Cole and Matthew Nolette. The leaders are calling all St. Andrew’s youth to gather on Friday nights, at 7-9 p.m. in the Upper Room, starting on Friday, November 19. Come out, reunite with old friends, meet new friends and above all - have fun! Bring a friend if you wish.
Youth Group is available to all youth in Grades 7-12. Once the program is underway and, depending on numbers and the will of the group, an invitation may be extended to those in Grade 6 at a later date.  Occasional special tween nights will be planned to include younger youth.
St. Andrew’s protocol for COVID will be followed, including the wearing of masks. If parents have any questions, they can be directed to Rhonda Wishart, Convenor of Faith Formation at rhonda.wishart@icloud.com or to  Rev. Fiona at fionaz2000@yahoo.com or 403-826-2971.
Recent graduates may also contact Rev. Fiona regarding a possible role in junior leadership of the group.

If you build it, they will come.

If you can provide a $25 gift card and some words of encouragement to our post-secondary students during exam time, please email Rhonda Wishart at Rhonda.wishart@icloud.com, or phone 403-614-9924.  She would love to send you the name and address of a student you can be in touch with.   We want them ALL to know we hold them in our prayers as they work towards their goals, many of them far away from home.

PCC - EASTERN HAN-CA & WESTERN HAN-CA

These are painful days for many in our midst.  The Presbyterian Church in Canada has been challenged to reflect on the ways the ethnic contingent of the PCC have been treated.  The 2021 General Assembly appointed a special committee to listen to concerns identified by petitions from the Presbyteries of Eastern Han-Ca and Western Han-Ca, our Korean brothers and sisters.
