LinX Email for March 6, 2024

Rev. Laurie McKay

Healing comes from surprising places.  For the Israelites in the desert, looking at a snake is the antidote to snake bites.   Could it be that our healing is found in the very thing that causes us suffering?  Vulnerability.  Confession.  Humility.  God can use our weakness and confusion to bring grace, faith, and compassion for ourselves and others.

Grateful Thankful Blessed

Grateful Thankful Blessed

We are blessed at St. Andrew’s to have many ‘behind the scenes’ people who help those in our faith community feel cared for and supported.  One such person is Kathy Slimmon, who sends out birthday cards to those 80 and over; as well as Sympathy, Get Well, and Thinking of You cards (on behalf of the Ladies’ Guild). We are grateful for her dedication, and we KNOW those who receive the cards are too.  We get phone calls saying how much it meant to receive a card in the mail.  It does indeed take a village!  Thank you Kathy!!  ~  Deb

THIS COMING SUNDAY, MARCH 10 is our Annual Congregational Meeting

THIS COMING SUNDAY, MARCH 10 is our Annual Congregational Meeting

As soon as you have stretched your legs and had a bit of a break, please rejoin us in the Sanctuary for our Annual Congregational Meeting.  We will be looking back on 2023 and looking forward to 2024.
Lilwen Henrichsen will be in the nursery for children/youth who would like to join her during the annual meeting time.  She’ll have a few coloring sheets and worksheets for older children ~ and the younger children will have fun with the nursery toys - and just playing together.
Copies of the 2023 Annual Report and Addendum of financial information can be picked up in the Foyer prior to the meeting if you don’t have your copies yet.
They are also available on our website if you CLICK HERE

For those who cannot attend in person, the following Zoom link will be available at 11:00 am Sunday morning.   If you are joining by Zoom, please join us at 11:00 so that you can be greeted by Kevin & Barbara MacFarlane, who will provide an explanation about how you can participate in the meeting ‘virtually’.  We expect the meeting to start in the Sanctuary around 11:15, so it would be helpful to you to have a few minutes together online before the meeting starts.

Ministry of Welcome… Sometimes you just want snail mail
We want people who are visitors, or who are new to our faith family to feel welcome and to know they are important to us.
If you have a few minutes during the week to write a ‘welcome to St. Andrew’s’ card, please call the church office and let us know (403.255.0001).  We will provide the names and addresses of the people who should receive a card, a box of cards, and our thanks for your help.
