January 18, 2026 - ‘My God shall be my strength’Dillon Hausauer, Elder from St. Andrew's Lethbridge Every servant of God reaches a moment when the results seem small, fragile, or futile. Yet flourishing does not depend on visible outcomes. It depends on God’s faithfulness and the servant’s alignment with God’s call.

Grateful, Thankful, BlessedA ‘very nice lift’ for our Claire House neighbours Dear friends of Claire House at St Andrew's church ~ you got a big thank you from the CUPS Social Worker who helped to distribute our gift cards. Your generosity was felt warmly throughout the Claire House community. You exceeded our goal of $2,810, and in the end, we were able to purchase a $50 gift card for every household, plus extra for each child. The cards were delivered in time for Christmas with a friendly greeting from all of us at St Andrew's. At a time when some of the usual Christmas community supports were feeling the economic pinch and cutting back, this boost from us, a neighbour, was a very nice lift. It appears there will actually be some money left-over which we plan to put to use in our on-going work of community-building at Claire House. |

Office Staff - Who does what?!?
We thought you may all like to know who to reach out to for specific things now that we’ve completed our ‘office staff restructuring’. Solange (works Monday-Thursday, 9:00 - 2:30):
Dolly (works Monday-Thursday, 9:00 - 4:00):
Debby (works Tuesday & Wednesday, 9:00 - 4:30):
Please know that we are ALL willing to take whatever requests come our way and make sure they get to the right person - we know transitions take time… and that it will take ‘we Presbyterians’ time to get used to CHANGE!!! :) |

Sudanese Feast - January 25th
For over 25 years, the South Sudanese congregation has been worshiping in the afternoons each Sunday at St. Andrew's. There are now approximately 80-90 people who gather. They worship primarily in Nuer at 1:30 pm. If you would like to experience African worship, you are always welcome! Once a year, the congregation sponsors a feast to share with the morning congregation at St. Andrew's. The feast planned for January 18th has been postponed to January 25 starting at 3:00. You don't need to travel to Africa to get a taste of their culture, their food, and their warm hospitality. Please join us for either worship at 1:30 in the Sanctuary, or just the Feast on January 25 at 3:00 pm in Trinity Hall. |

Wellness (and not so wellness) visits
Is there anything on your heart or mind that you would like to share with someone who has a sympathetic ear? Rev. Geoffrey is happy to meet with you, either in person or on the phone. And if there are practical issues about spiritual care that you would like some advice on, he can provide resources and suggestions. Or he can just listen. You can reach him via email, at gsimmins@standrewscalgary.ca or leave a message at 403-255-0001 and he will get back to you. Jesus calls us to have life in abundance, and we want to help you do just that. |
