Rev. Peter Coutts
I am a husband (to Sheri), a father to two grown sons (who are all things mountain four seasons of the year), a landscape photographer, movie fan and bread baker.
I am also a theologian haunted by two questions:
1] “How do we best help people grow into a faith that becomes ever more central and meaningful in their lives in this day and age?”
2] “How do we develop as a congregation in order to make [1] happen?”
Looking back, my background seems quite eclectic! After a stint as a Naval Officer and seminary training I went on to serve in four congregations, including here at St. Andrew’s in 2000-2013. Along the way I earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in congregational revitalization from McCormick Presbyterian Seminary in Chicago, and later went on to teach core courses in that program as an adjunct professor. In the corners of my calendar I’ve been a consultant, speaker and resource developer, working within 6 different denominations in Canada and 3 in the USA.
It is good to be back now as your Interim-Minister to help St. Andrew’s through the current time of transition.
